10 Apps Students Can Use to Earn Part-Time Income in Online 2026

A few years ago, if a student wanted to earn some extra money, the options were pretty limited. Maybe tutoring, a part-time shop job, or helping someone locally. Today it's completely different. What surprised me while researching this article is how many students are already earning online without waiting until graduation.

Some are editing videos for clients. Some are managing Instagram pages. Others are selling study notes or running YouTube channels after classes. At the same time, there is a lot of bad advice online. Every day you'll find videos claiming you can make thousands of rupees with almost no effort.

Most of those videos leave out the difficult part —actually putting in the work. That's why I wanted to focus on apps that students can realistically use in 2026. Some of them can help you earn a little pocket money. Others can help you build skills that may turn into a full-time career later on. The goal isn't finding a magic app. The goal is finding something you can stick with long enough to see results.

1. Fiverr

If someone asked me where to start earning online today, Fiverr would probably be one of my first recommendations. The platform connects freelancers with clients looking for services like content writing, graphic design, video editing, social media management, SEO, programming, and AI-related tasks.

Fiverr remains one of the largest freelance marketplaces in the world, serving millions of buyers globally. Recent reports show Fiverr continues to focus on higher-value projects rather than low-cost gigs, which is good news for skilled freelancers. The first order can take time, but once reviews start coming in, getting new clients becomes much easier.

Potential earnings: ₹5,000 – ₹50,000+ per month

How Students Can Earn with Fiverr

  1. Create a Fiverr account and complete your profile.
  2. Choose a skill you already know such as writing, thumbnail design,
  3. Canva design, video editing, or social media management.
  4. Create service listings called "Gigs."
  5. Add sample work to show clients what you can do.
  6. Deliver quality work and collect positive reviews.
  7. Increase your prices as your profile grows.

2. Upwork

Think of Upwork as Fiverr's more professional cousin. Many startups and businesses use Upwork to hire freelancers for long-term projects. Competition can be tougher, but clients often have bigger budgets. Students who develop skills in writing, coding, marketing, design, or video editing can find serious opportunities here.

One thing I've noticed is that many successful freelancers use both Fiverr and Upwork instead of relying on a single platform.

Potential earnings: ₹10,000 – ₹1,00,000+ per month

3. Internshala

Internshala is probably one of the most practical platforms for Indian students. Instead of random gigs, you can find internships in content writing, digital marketing, business development, graphic design, AI research, and software development. Many internships are remote, making them easier to balance alongside studies. The biggest advantage isn't just the money. It's the experience and resume-building opportunities that come with it.

Potential earnings: ₹5,000 – ₹30,000+ per month

4. YouTube Studio

YouTube remains one of the most exciting opportunities for students. The platform rewards consistency more than expensive equipment. Many successful channels started with nothing more than a smartphone and a good idea. Technology, gaming, football, AI tools, education, and productivity continue to be popular categories.

The interesting thing about YouTube is that videos can keep generating views and revenue long after they're uploaded.

Potential earnings: ₹0 – ₹1,00,000+ per month.

5. Canva

Most students already know Canva as a design tool. What many don't realize is that businesses pay for Canva-created content every day. Social media posts, YouTube thumbnails, presentations, resumes, posters, and marketing materials can all be created without advanced design skills. With AI features becoming more powerful inside Canva, students can now create professional-looking designs much faster than before.

Potential earnings: ₹2,000 – ₹30,000+ per month

6. PollPe

Not everyone wants to start freelancing or create content immediately. For students looking for something simple, PollPe offers rewards for surveys, polls, and small tasks. It won't replace a real part-time job, but it's an easy way to earn some extra pocket money during free time. Think of it as a bonus rather than a serious income source.

 Potential earnings: ₹500 – ₹5,000+ per month

  2. Complete surveys
  3. Earn points

7. Honeygain

Honeygain is one of the most talked-about passive income apps. The concept is simple. You install the app and share a portion of your unused internet bandwidth. In return, Honeygain pays users based on network demand. The key word here is "passive." You don't actively complete tasks, but earnings are usually much lower than freelancing or content creation. It's best viewed as a small side income rather than a business opportunity.

Potential earnings: ₹200 – ₹1,500+ per month

  1. Install app
  2. Connect internet
  3. Let app run in background
  4. Accumulate credits
  5. Withdraw earnings

8. Prolific

Prolific is different from traditional survey websites. Researchers and universities use the platform to recruit participants for academic studies and research projects. One reason Prolific has become popular is that studies often pay better than typical survey sites. The platform recommends participant compensation that can reach around $8–$12 per hour for qualifying studies. The downside is that study availability depends heavily on your location and profile.

Potential earnings: ₹1,000 – ₹10,000+ per month

  1. Prolific Create account
  2. Complete profile honestly
  3. Participate in studies
  4. Submit responses

9. Clickworker

Clickworker falls into the growing category of AI-training and micro-task platforms. Companies need people to label images, transcribe audio, evaluate search results, and complete small online tasks that help improve AI systems. These tasks usually don't require advanced skills, making them accessible for students. The work can be repetitive, but it offers flexibility because you can complete tasks whenever you have spare time.

Potential earnings: ₹500 – ₹15,000+ per month

  2. Complete assessments
  3. Access available tasks
  4. Finish image labeling or data tasks

10. Gumroad

One trend I've noticed recently is that more students are selling digital products. Study notes, exam planners, AI prompt packs, resume templates, e-books, and productivity resources can all be sold through Gumroad. Once a product is created, it can be sold repeatedly without additional effort. This is one of the few opportunities on this list that can generate income even while you're sleeping.

Potential earnings: ₹1,000 – ₹50,000+ per month

How to Earn with Gumroad

  1. Create digital product
  2. Upload to Gumroad

Tech Yuth Final Thoughts

While writing this article, I kept thinking about something I've noticed online lately. Most students spend weeks searching for the perfect earning app, but very few actually start. They watch YouTube videos. They save Instagram reels. They bookmark websites. Then they move on to the next trend. The students who are making money online usually aren't doing anything extraordinary. They're just getting started while everyone else is still researching.

If I were in college today, I'd probably ignore half the apps on this list and focus on one thing. Maybe freelancing. Maybe YouTube. Maybe selling digital products. It honestly doesn't matter as much as people think. What matters is learning a skill and giving it enough time to grow. The first month might be disappointing. The second month might not look much better.

But if you keep improving, opportunities start appearing in places you never expected. One client becomes two. One video becomes fifty. One small project turns into something much bigger. That's usually how online income works. Not overnight success. Just small wins stacked together over time. So instead of asking which app will make the most money, ask yourself which one you'll still be using six months from now. That's probably the better choice.
